| | European Commission Launches Anti-dumping Investigation
On 13 November the European Commission launched the antidumping investigation concerning imports of welded tubes, pipes and hollow profiles of square or rectangular cross-section, of iron other than cast iron or steel other than stainless originating in Belarus, Turkey and Ukraine. The products are described by CN codes 7306 61 92 and 7306 61 99. The interested producers should make themselves known to the Commission within 10 days, i.e. before 22 November to use the following address:

Any comments on this matter should be sent to the Commission within 10 days (before 22 November). In this investigation the Commission intends to apply sampling for exporters, importers and Community industry.

 | | Kyiv Conference - “EU-Ukraine: Members or Neighbours”
The conference will be held on 14 November 2008, and is organised by the Oxford University Ukrainian Society and the National University of ‘Kyiv-Mohyla Academy’. The conference will be opened by Roman Shpek (Ukraine’s representative to the European Union for 8 years), and will consist of four panels covering: Economic Issues, Social Policy Issues and two panels covering Political Issues.
