Strategies for Protecting Women and Children from Trafficking -

The conference took place on 24 September at the European Parliament and was hosted by the EUUBC and Nikki Sinclaire, MEP




Various approaches are presently being pursued for the prevention of trafficking of women and children, including liberalising prostitution laws, criminalising consumers in destination countries, creating networks for interdisciplinary cooperation, seeking compensation for trafficked persons and targeting grassroots education toward vulnerable populations.

What is working? This seminar provided an update on these and other anti-trafficking measures and explored relevant issues in the current debate.
