23rd Economic Forumin Krynica, Poland EU Ukraine Business Council held a discussion panel on "Removing Economic and Political Blocks to Investment in the Eastern Partnership Countries" on 3 September at the Economic Forum in Krynica, Poland.

Economic recession has forced companies worldwide to re-evaluate the risk profile of their investment strategies, and to take a fresh look at business opportunities in the countries of the Eastern Partnership. But problems in respect of corruption, the absence of protection of property rights, and the rule of law are to varying degrees obstacles to investment in the EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood.

The panel discussed what could be done by the EU to remove blocks to investment, and improve the profile of these countries to make them more attractive to foreign investors.
