| The Future EU-Ukraine DCFTA - Round Table held on 7 July 2010 | | Print | |
 On 7th July the EUUBC organized the Round Table to discuss what is at stake for the business and industry within future EU Ukraine deep and comprehensive free trade agreement (DCFTA).The Round Table was organized with support of the Mission of Ukraine to the EU, the main sponsor of the DCFTA theme at the EUUBC activities in 2010 is TNK BP in Ukraine, the cosponsor of the DCFTA Round Table on 7th July is System Capital Management. The speakers presented the views of the official negotiating teams of Ukraine and the EU, business and employers’ organizations, chambers of commerce and industry, businesses; the role of the European Parliament was highlighted. About 50 people took part at the discussions, including representatives of the EU institutions, European industrial organizations, private companies, diplomatic corps of EFTA countries, Eastern Partner countries, representatives of the Ukrainian negotiating team, think tanks and media. The Round Table was a first experience of the discussions with business involvement organized at the middle of the EU Ukraine DCFTA negotiating round. The push which was given will support to the DCFTA topic to be more actively raised at the high level events and technical meetings with business in Ukraine. We believe that this practice should be developed and the Ukrainian business should be consulted before and after the negotiating rounds at regular basis. Only in this way the win-win situation for economies and businesses of both sides from the DCFTA will be achieved. The explanatory note and agenda are available for download in our Download Area.
