The EU Ukraine Business Council held the second in our 2010 series of Energy Round Tables on Wednesday 23rd June, in Scotland House, Rond-Point Schuman 6, B-1040 Brussels. The event was sponsored by DTEK, the number one privately-owned power producer and number one coal producer in Ukraine. Ukraine has the potential to support the European Union’s global climate and energy policies, and contribute to work towards the goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2020 across Europe. This Round Table meeting seeks to exchange ideas and information how the greater integration of Ukraine in the EU’s Energy Policy will generate business opportunities in the area of energy efficiency. The Round Table brings together energy businesses, government representatives and IFIs to address energy policy and project finance issues in order to stimulate practical energy efficiency and alternative energy projects.
