Civil Society Forum, under the Eastern Partnership, was off to a good start on 16-17 November in Brussels. The EU Ukraine Business Council contributed to the meeting of the working group on Economic Integration and Convergence with EU policies, and EUUBC Director, Anna Zvolikevych, was elected as Rapporteur for this group.
The group adopted its recommendations (enclosed) which will be presented at the meeting of the EU and Eastern Partnership Foreign Ministers on 8th December in Brussels. More information about the Forum can be found on the European Commission WEB-site: http://ec.europa.eu/external_relations/eastern/civil_society/index_en.htm. The Working Group agreed to prepare proposals for the creation of a permanent Eastern Partnership Business Forum that would enhance the contacts between business associations and companies from the EU and the Eastern Partnership Countries. The deadline for registration of interested experts from civil society organisations is the 31st December. The EU Ukraine Business Council has donated its services to prepare the working document for an online discussion. We call upon to all interested civil society organisations who would like to contribute to the discussions and shaping of the Eastern Partnership Business Forum, to make themselves known and contact the EUUBC with their views and proposals (contact e-mail addresses: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We strongly believe that together we can invigorate this idea to generate benefits for Eastern Partnership countries and their relations with the EU.
